I-SITE ULNE will fund 2 chairs to develop the scientific potential of the Lille site. In order to anchor the chairs in the existing I-SITE arrangements and in the partnerships already established, it is proposed to back the chairs with the international associated laboratories (LAI) or any equivalent arrangement already formalised (in particular the International Research Projects of the national research organisations) of the I-SITE members. 3i cross-border collaborations

I-SITE ULNE is offering financial support to professors/researchers and staff members of its founding member institutions who want to set up or increase their cross-border collaborations by organizing events, seminars, meetings, colloquia, etc. The activities have to be organized in Hauts-de-France region (France), Flanders region (Belgium) or Kent County (United Kingdom) between 1 August 2021 and 31 March 2022. Health PhD 2021

I-SITE ULNE will fund 4 to 7 “Health-PhD” thesis grants to allow Medical doctor, pharmacist or odontologist students to be released from clinical activities during one year (eventually renewable one time). The aim of the call is to allow these students to pursue a University Thesis in the framework of the “Ecole Doctorale Biologie-Santé de Lille”. During this term, the candidate will fully dedicate his or her time to his or her thesis inside the host laboratory. Remuneration will be equivalent to a 4th year intern salary. Results

6 co-supervised doctorates with the aim of strengthening cooperation between I-SITE ULNE and the University of Kent. Three PhD projects will be funded on the French side (via the present call)  and three PhD projects on the British side. The PhD candidates selected via the present call will be principally attached to the research team of the promotor associated with I-SITE ULNE. Successful candidates must spend at least one year in the research unit of the University of Kent supervisor during the three years of the doctorate. Hub “Cultures, Societies and Practices in Transformation” CHAIR OF EXCELLENCE Call for projects 2021 – 2nd wave

This call aims to welcome researchers with demonstrated excellence in research and a strong international reputation. The invited researcher will be hosted by a Lille SHS research unit. He or she will be involved with a team working on a scientific project that is responds to one of the three challenges of the Hub Cultures, societies and practices in transformation. The Chair project may sollicit a maximum budget of 120,000 euros, including management costs. Additional funding for a doctoral contract may also be requested, in order to explore an original dimension in relation to the research project developed within the framework of the chair. The Lille conurbation (MEL) and the I-SITE ULNE renew their partnership for 2020 and launch a new edition of the call for Industrial Research Chairs projects. Start-AIRR

The region Hauts-de-France has set up a device called Start-AIRR, intended for the Hauts-de-France academic laboratories, and dedicated to supporting the last steps of research for projects with potential for maturation, with a view to a future technology transfer. The I-SITE ULNE offers laboratories of the consortium a co-financing of up to 50,000 euros for ambitious projects with high innovation potential, as part of its scientific strategy around its three hubs: health, planet and digital world. Phenomix Grant for Medical Imaging

I-SITE ULNE and the INtegration Center of the Lille University hospital for Data Exploration (INCLUDE) are launching the call for proposals « Phenomix Grant for Medical Imaging ». The latter aims to support, guide and materialise an innovative research project based on the application of statistical learning techniques (machine learning, deep learning) in medical imaging. This call for proposals is open to members of the consortium. It is endowed with a maximum of 50,000 euros allowing the recruitment of a full-time engineer assigned to the project for a 12 months period, and a support provided to the project leader by the INCLUDE team. Sustain & Expand 2

10 interdisciplinary projects of 150 k € maximum:
  • 5 Sustain in order to reinforce the perimeter of excellence (are eligible the researchers and teacher-researchers of PERIDEX),
  • and 5 Expand to extend it (are eligible for researchers and teacher-researchers who are members of the consortium excluding Peridex members).
Careful: External partner institutions may participate in the projects but can not be directly beneficiaries of the funds (including via a repayment). In addition, the I-SITE encourages the holders to formalize their project with the project engineering services of their institution, and reminds that the signature by the person in charge of the establishment is required.
